A New Name...

I was reading through a little bit if Isaiah tonight and I came across a passage that I had read before and loved and I just wanted to share it.

"For Zion's sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet, till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. The nations will see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; you will be called by a new name that the mouth of the Lord will bestow. You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. No longer will they call you Deserted, or name your land Desolate. But you will be called Hephzibah (my Delight) and your land Beulah (married) for teh Lord will take delight in you, and your land will be married. As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons (Builder) marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you."
- Isaiah 62:1-5

I like that God sees us. He knows out hearts. He knows how dirty and worn out they are. And He takes it anyway, and He tells us we're valuable and that He delights in us and rejoices over us.

The end.

Katie!!! I totally read that last week! the part I especially loved was at the very end when he says "you will be called Sought After..." I love that.

This was one of the passages that made me think, "dang, Isaiah was an incredible songwriter and poet." God used an artsy kid like Isaiah to say powerful things and it makes me wonder if God might use me to move others in similar ways, ha. That'd be sweet.
